Pasi Sahlberg

Pasi Sahlberg is Professor of Educational Leadership and co-leader of the Future Schools Network at the University of Melbourne, Australia. His previous work in Finland includes classroom teacher in Helsinki, teacher education in the University of Helsinki, and leading curriculum reforms and development at Finland’s National Agency of Education. He has also worked as education specialist at the World Bank and the European Commission, and as visiting professor at Harvard University. Pasi works with teachers, schools, and education system leaders around the world to rethink and transform teaching and learning. He is a recipient of the 2012 Education Award in Finland, the 2014 Robert Owen Award in Scotland, and the 2021 Hedley Beare Award in Australia, and author of over 20 books, including “Let the Children Play: How more play can save our schools and help children thrive” in 2019, and “In Teachers We Trust: The Finnish Way to world class schools” in 2021. He lives with his family in Melbourne.
